Micro Goals
Atomic Habits and The Compound Effect are two books that have had an enormous impact on me.
The main message boils down to this simple formula.
Small choices + consistency + time = significant results.
I've experimented with hundreds of "micro habits" over the last few years and guess what? It works!
The journey I'm embarking on is the following.
Make one new micro habit each week to bring me in line with my personal vision.
Week 1 Challenge
Eat one serving of veggies and one serving of fruit.
That's it.
That's it? My wife asks. That's not enough.
While she is correct the power of a micro habit is that it's small enough to feel doable each day. Is one serving of fruits and veggies enough? No.
But guess what, the small effort I make to eat one serving magically turns into more. The hardest part is taking that first step.
Your Turn
What is one positive thing you want to add to your life?
Let's say you want to run a marathon. Now think of the smallest change you can make.
Go to the gym, jump on a treadmill and run 3 miles. Hmmm, for most of us, it's not happening.
Think smaller.
Put on your running shoes and walk out the door.
Now we're talking. Make the micro habit so small it's hard not to do.

Micro habits are a powerful way to create the lives we want by using a tried and proven formula.
